How to Choose an SEO Provider for Your Estate Planning Firm

Compare the work your firm will receive and the evidence used to guide it. A proposal is easier to evaluate when it identifies the office or market, pages, approvals, access, deliverables, and reporting.

Choose the Type of Help First

Choose the type of help before comparing providers. If you need to understand the problem, ask about an audit. If you have specific findings, ask how implementation is scoped. If you want recurring support, ask what will be reviewed and delivered each month, and what the proposal says about scope and fee.

Use This Proposal Comparison

A proposal is easier to assess when it identifies the work, evidence, responsibilities, and handoff. Compare the office or market covered, named deliverables, account ownership, approval process, and reporting. The table below helps you ask consistent questions of each provider before judging whether the scope fits your firm’s needs.

QuestionWhat to look for
What is included?Named profiles/pages, market scope, tasks, deliverables, and exclusions.
Who does the work? The person responsible and any developer dependencies.
Who owns the accounts? The firm keeps control and grants appropriate access.
Who approves changes?A written process for factual and substantive edits.
How are inquiries measured?Clear sources, qualification criteria, and known attribution limits.
How does work end?Agreed terms, handoff material, access removal, and ownership of completed work.

Ask to See a Finding

Ask to see a finding with an observation, evidence, explanation, recommended action, and a way to check the change. An attractive report is easier to trust when you can follow how the recommendation was reached, and a provider should be able to show where the evidence came from and what it cannot establish.

Confirm the Scope Before Paying

Ask for the fee, timing, responsibilities, dependencies, and approval process in writing before you pay. A provider should be able to explain what remains uncertain and what additional evidence would change the recommendation, and the proposal should state which accounts you own and who approves each change.

Warning Signs in an SEO Proposal

Some proposal wording should slow you down. A guaranteed ranking, a vague list of tasks, a request for passwords by email, or an unwillingness to show a sample finding all make the work harder to judge. Ask for clarification in writing before you pay anything.

  • Guaranteed rankings, positions, or inquiry counts.
  • Bulk link purchases or directory submissions presented as the main work.
  • No named deliverables, dates, or approval steps.
  • Requests for account passwords instead of invitations to your accounts.
  • No sample finding that shows the evidence behind a recommendation.
